Leanne Perrins: FedWed’s Head of Video and UK Wedding Videographer
In this series of posts we’re going to be introducing you to the FedWed founders and the rest of the panel building up to the launch of our mentoring options for when the wedding season quietens down and you can start focusing on your business for next year and way beyond. Today’s interview is with our head of video Leanne Perrins, and Ste caught up with her to ask her some questions and help you get to know who she is, and what makes her tick as a wedding filmmaker.
Performance Artist, TV runner, and wedding filmmaker
Find out more in this interview about Leanne’s journey into wedding filmmaking from a theatrical degree, some time working as a runner on major TV shows and how a disillusionment with the TV industry led her to shoot her first wedding.
A client led approach to wedding filmmaking
You’ll hear Leanne talk candidly about her approach to wedding films, and how she wants her couples to connect emotionally to their film so why listening to what people say is key to understanding their unique story.
FedWed Head of Video
We knew that two photographers weren’t enough to create something that catered to similar-but-different needs of a wedding filmmaker, and with Leanne’s enthusiasm for events that connect people, and her experience of running Rise Film Retreat which at the time was the largest gathering of UK wedding filmmakers, we knew we wanted to work with her if she was up for it! And she was! Leanne worked with us behind the scenes while we planned the launch of FedWed and will be instrumental in making sure we create products and events to help UK wedding filmmakers.
What is the FedWed Panel and why?
When we settled on the idea of a body that truly represents the wedding photo + film industry how we see it now and in the future we wanted to make sure we surrounded ourselves with a team. A team of amazing people, amazing artists and natural knowledge sharers. In this series we will introduce you to each member of the panel building up to the launch of our wedding photography and film mentoring options and the first panel advice discussions which will be posted soon too! Lots happening!
