Meet Johnny Dent
Hi, I'm Johnny and I photograph people getting drunk and having fun at weddings... I don't dictate the day and won't disappear with you for hours taking photos when you should be hanging out with your friends and family. I don't do stuffy, posed or cheesy, its just not weddings are about for me. I want to capture you both having an awesome time with your mates.
I'll basically be like a guest only with cameras and questionable facial hair (the key to getting the best stuff is to make sure that people aren't conscious of me pointing my camera at them).
I promise never to ask you to smile at the camera and I'll never ask you to look off wistfully into the distance..
What do you love about weddings?
Mostly the canapés and cake... But also the fact that its great to be a part of a couples massive party, the fun and emotion that I get to witness is something that I really love and I feel lucky that I seem to attract couples that want to party with their mates..
What is your favourite part of a wedding to capture?
It has to be either the speeches or the dance floor... The speeches are where the best reactions happen and it's also where the emotions really come out, so its always a key point for getting awesome photos. The evening is also great fun too, I love being right in the thick of a packed bouncing dance floor and its always a bonus when the tie limbo busts out...
What's your favourite cheese?
It has to be a nice over-ripe Cambozola, closely followed by a baked Camembert and then a creamy aged Stilton. To be honest though, any cheese is good cheese.
What one piece of advice would you give to a couple planning their wedding?
Do things your way.. You really can do whatever you want on your wedding day, so don't let anyone tell you otherwise. And choose suppliers that are the perfect fit for you, its also super important that you have a call with photographers/videographers before you book them, as is just as important that you get on with them as much as you love their work.
What areas do you cover and are you happy to travel?
I love to travel, so nowhere is out of bounds. Travel costs are included for mainland UK weddings, so if I have to get on a boat or a plane then my travel cost will need to be covered. My passport and speedo’s are always ready though.
