Meet Charlene McNabb
Film-maker straight out of college, even looking back there was always a camera in my hand!
Mum of 2, lover of afternoon tea and all the 90's Pop Classics (even knowing the dance routine to most songs of that era...not even sorry). Born in Nottingham but now an honorary Northerner after moving to Liverpool and then on to Lancashire way back in 2001, I have had the pleasure of filming weddings since 2010.
I managed to work my way on to TV sets in college and with great tea-making skills, I enjoyed 'running' and assisting in Post Production suites in film and TV sets around the North West. Working for Channel 4 and many independents. I even went on to be an Editorial Assistant on Mr Bean's Holiday (and yes, Rowan Atkinson as thankfully wonderful in real life!).
I also had the honour of editing a Northern Feature film called 'Charlie Noades R.I.P', written and starring the amazing comedian Neil Fitzmaurice (of 'Ray-von' fame in Phoenix Nights).
I think my work within comedy film and TV has led me to find the fun stuff at weddings. I definitely noticed I was trying to lean away from all the 'trying to hard to be romantic' slo-mo wedding videos of that time and wanted to keep my wedding video style more 'real' and a true reflection of the couple and their day.
I went on to edit my own wedding video back in 2009/2010 (it took that long around a full time job in Editing ha) and it was my 'anti wedding video' Husband that actually nudged me in the direction of starting my own business.
He bought a website named after our first dance (Love Gets Sweeter) and that was the start of the most amazing journey...

What do you love about weddings?
I think everyone has this idea that it's all about the romantic stuff. For me, it is so much more than that. There are so many little stories of love and connection intertwined within your big love story and I love people watching and waiting for those moments to happen!
I feel very privilaged to be trusted to capture your wedding memories for you and just love being allowed in those important moments with you
What is your favourite part of a wedding to capture?
Even after all these years, I still have a few moments I anticipate and love every time. The bubbles of excitement in the morning, the first look with your wedding besties and Parents and on to that amazing 'first look' as you see each other for the first time during your ceremony...it's allllll about connections and moments for me!
How would you describe your style?
Honest. Fun. Relaxed.
What couples love about my film-making/ videography style is my natural ability to anticipate those moments and connections on the day without you being aware I was filming.
Not only my experience helps this but my filming style being friendly and discreet is key!
What one piece of advice would you give to a couple planning their wedding?
My favourite is the one thing someone told us before we got married. To make time for just the two of you, sneak off if you have to!
It really does help hit pause on the day and gives you an opportunity to chat about what you've loved so far, it's a great way to help you remember as much as you can from your wedding. They're not joking when they say the day goes so fast!

What areas do you cover and are you happy to travel?
I'm based in West Lancashire but love to travel up to 2 hours from my home (included in the pricing) so that means Cheshire, The Lake District, Liverpool and Merseyside, the Wirral and even some of Staffordshire and Yorkshire is covered there!
I do love any excuse to travel and have been down to Somerset and up to Aviemore in the Highlands, all I ask is to get me a nice B&B and cover the additional travel and I'd LOVE to come hang out at your day and film it!
