Meet Dan Higginson
I’m the owner of Moment Photography. I spend my downtime making cocktails and digging through vinyl records. There's nothing like sharing Rum Old Fashioned’s around a fire pit on those long summer nights.
What do you love about weddings?
Listen, I enjoy photography a lot. But what I really love is people; I’m always looking for what’s different about people, not the similarities. That's why I love weddings; they're all about people expressing themselves and their love for one another.
What is your favourite part of a wedding to capture?
The ceremony is obviously a beautiful moment at every wedding, two people declaring their love in front of their closest family and friends. But the part I enjoy most of all is the explosion of energy at the end of the night. The waves of booze-soaked carnage on the dancefloor give me life! Who wouldn't love the moment that Nan dances with the best man?!
How would you describe your style?
Unforgettable moments need incredible photography. I focus on capturing authentic moments in a cinematic style.
What one piece of advice would you give to a couple planning their wedding?
It’s easy to get overwhelmed by planning your wedding. After a while, you lose sight of why you’re doing all this work, turning your wedding into a long list of jobs to get done. Let me bring you back to reality for a moment: you’re marrying your best friend. That’s a beautiful thing.
