Meet Stephen Brown
Hey I'm Steve, mental health nurse turned Videographer - I love all things wedding and all things film, bringing them together to make beautiful films for my couples is soooo satisfying and I put my heart and soul into creating wonderful films, from the composition of my shots, the clarity of the sound and the final edit - I take my time to do the best possible job for you!
What do you love about weddings?
Everything! It's such a happy day, I love seeing couples turn the page on their love story and that I get to capture it. But I do love a good speech where you can see there has been some care and attention made, it really showcases the love that couples and their families have for each other.
What is your favourite part of a wedding to capture?
Oooops already answered this one - it's the speeches! Although a close second is sunset/golden hour photos and video - its when I get to enjoy the light and make some magical images for you!
How would you describe your style?
I'm not big on stress or ego - I film the day as it happens, trying hard to not put myself in anyones way - unobtrusive is the industry jargon for this, but other than the above mentioned sunset portraits I try to limit any direction to you and your partner, instead focusing on filming the events as they naturally occur.
I do enjoy filming in a certain style - so that may mean the bright blue skies are visible and not bright white - this does mean shadows are captured as they naturally are - this is generally known as a cinematic style and the images can look a little darker. I am able to film and edit a bright and airy style - but if that's what you want you will need to tell me before the big day!
What one piece of advice would you give to a couple planning their wedding?
Don't stress about the small details on the day - everything will pass you by so quickly you don't want a worried or on edge face for your photos and films - so invest in a coordinator if you can, someone who can make sure that auntie Dorothy has her wedding chair reserved and can quickly address and clean up any last minute problems before you notice them.
What areas do you cover and are you happy to travel?
I travel EVERYWHERE! I'm based in central England and have filmed across England, Wales, France, Spain and Turkey.
