What do you love about weddings?
I love the fact that everyone is in such a fabulous mood, so happy. To be able to work in an environment where everyone is happy, excited, looking fabulous. It's infectious. Its such an pleasure and I'm so lucky to be able to share in couples most precious of days.
What is your favourite part of a wedding to capture?
I love the aisle walk, the moment the groom sees his bride.
How would you describe your style?
Weddings are by definition mainly photojournalistic, but there are times when the couple and the groups need a little help with what to do with hands, a slight angled stance etc. I try not to interfere but help the wedding tick along. I mostly shoot with 2 photographers, this guarantees loads of additional candids. I like to get the couple out in the early evening for something a bit special, a 'wow' shot if you like. These are pretty well posed and set up.
What one piece of advice would you give to a couple planning their wedding?
Build in time for your photographs 🙂 Make sure there's enough time to get prep shots with hair and make up finished, a little time for quiet time pics after the group shots and 10 mins at twilight for something magical.
What areas do you cover and are you happy to travel?
I mainly shoot in the North West of the UK but have shot all over the country and abroad, more than happy to travel.
