Meet Steve Grogan
Hello. I’m Steve, a Manchester-based, multi award winning wedding photographer with ten years’ experience working at some of the finest wedding venues in the world. I feel people look their absolute best when photographed naturally, I’m not one of those annoying wedding photographers who will control your day, shout orders or tell your guests what to do.
What do you love about weddings?
People are my absolute main focus on a wedding day. I love people and I place great emphasis on capturing emotions. I’m an absolute sucker for smiles and laughter, capturing those fun moments for you is what really makes me tick.
What is your favourite part of a wedding to capture?
I particularly enjoy the evening party, I love photographing people letting their hair down!
How would you describe your style?
Moment-driven and documentary style. I photograph the vast majority of a wedding day completely naturally with no interruptions or direction. I recommend around 20 minutes for some formal group photos and another 15 minutes or so for some photos of just the two of you. But other than that I won’t take you away from your guests for hours so that you miss all the fun. I want you to spend your wedding partying with your family and friends, just as it should be.
What one piece of advice would you give to a couple planning their wedding?
Your wedding day can be whatever you want it to be. Ignore tradition if it doesn't sit right with you. Ignore family members putting pressure on you to do things a certain way. Just arrange the day that you both want.
What areas do you cover and are you happy to travel?
I travel anywhere, up and down the UK and all over the world. I’ve been fortunate enough to undertake commissions in several countries including Italy, Spain, Ireland, Hungary, Turks & Caicos Islands, Portugal & Thailand. I’ve also photographed in Rwanda on two occasions for UK-based children’s charity, Chance for Childhood, of whom I’m an avid supporter, donor and fundraiser.
