An industry leading second shooter directory
The FedWed second shooter directory is a fresh, innovative and slick way to do 2 things:
- Search for second shooters, assistants or associates to use within your own wedding photography or videography business
- Be found as a second shooter, assistant or associate to gain experience or make money as a wedding photographer or videographer
Our three principles are to help you CONNECT with your industry colleagues, help you LEARN new skills and crucially we also wanted to help you to directly BOOK work. So in addition to our FedWed Member Directory where engaged couples can find you and your work, we wanted to make it easier for those of you who want to second shoot to be found, and also easier for those of you who need second shooters to find people to work with you.
The second shooter directory is visible only to other logged-in FedWed members
The second shooter directory isn’t accessible by engaged couples. Once you complete your profile it’ll be at the top of your profile page if you also have a main directory profile already set up, or it’ll be the only thing on your profile page if you’re not on the main directory. Either way, the only people who can see your second shooter directory profile are other members of FedWed. Here’s a sample profile:
Finding second shooters for photo or video has never been this slick before
We built our second shooter directory as a response to there not being a slick or simple way to find second shooters. Many of us have used Facebook groups for this over the last few years, and it’s just not a slick or simple way to do it. We built the FedWed second shooter directory with these things in mind:
- Filter based on the camera brand people shoot with – because often it’s far easier once in the edit if your second shooter has used the same camera brand or camera as you’ve used
- Instantly be able to view a portfolio for the second shooter, without having to go off and visit a load of websites or social media profiles
- Be able to instantly enquire with someone as to whether they’re free to shoot on the date you’re looking at
- See a load more information about the photographer or filmmaker such as whether they’ll only shoot if they can use the images/footage
The second shooter directory is completely free to join and use because we just believe it’s a great thing for the industry the more artists who are listed
We decided when we were pricing our membership options, to separate out the second shooter directory and offer membership of just the seconds directory completely for free forever.
This is because the absolute foundation of our ethos as a company is to continually improve the industry, and the tools available to you for running your business. And a second shooter directory gives the most value if as many people within the industry as possible are listed, so we made it completely free for this reason.
Map based searching for the first time ever
Once you’ve applied your filters you’ll see all the wedding photographers or videographers available for second shooting who meet your criteria on a map. This allows you to potentially zoom in on an area or region and narrow your search based on who is located nearest to the venue for example. This would potentially allow you to book someone close to the venue who doesn’t need accommodation, saving you money and meaning you can give someone some work near to where they live.
Manage your profile and access the second shooter directories from your account dashboard
It’s really really simple to create and update your entry and access the second shooter directories (we’ve split photo and video into two separate directories for ease of searching) – it’s all accessed from your account dashboard once you’re logged into the FedWed website.
